Bejing’s Best Peking Duck

We both love Peking duck, but Chanda was determined to find the best Peking duck Bejing had to offer. Besides, you can’t go to Bejing and not eat Peking duck. So, after Mana scoured the internet she found a restaurant near the Forbidden Palace that was famous for their Peking duck.

Typically, you have to wait in line for a long time but because we came before the dinner rush we were quickly seated. The downstairs area was busy because it’s cheaper to eat there but if you want more ambiance then we suggest the upstairs dining area.

There weren’t many people dining when we arrived so it was nice and quiet. We were able to choose a spot that was tucked away in the corner where we were able to eat without being interrupted. It was also nice to look at the beautiful architecture of the dining room while we ate.

We have both had Peking duck from other restaurants but this was hands down the best we have ever had. The skin was perfectly crisp and the meat was incredibly juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Each bite was an explosion of mouth-watering deliciousness. We had a side of sugar, garlic, and cucumber, which Chanda felt a little leary of dipping the duck into but it was divine. When we dipped the duck in the sugar it literally melted in our mouths and expanded the flavor of the duck.

There was definitely more duck than two people can eat together and we both think that a group of four can eat one duck more than comfortably. We took the leftovers back to our hotel but we were so full that we couldn’t eat anymore. Chanda felt that it was the best meal she had ever eaten.

If you are able to visit Beijing you cannot pass up a chance to visit Quanjude Roast Duck. It is a lifechanging meal that will leave you more than satisfied.
